A1 Asphalt Winston-Salem is a family-run paving contractor based in Forsyth County, working driveways and parking lots across Winston-Salem, Clemmons, Kernersville, and the surrounding Triad. We started this company because too many homeowners and property managers were getting paving that looked good for one summer and cracked apart by spring. The fix isn't fancier asphalt — it's the base prep underneath it.
Every job we run starts with grading and compaction. Piedmont red clay holds water, and water that freezes in December is what cracks pavement open in March. We fix drainage, compact aggregate to spec, and only then pave with hot mix from local NCDOT-approved plants. The crew that grades the base is the same crew that lays the surface and runs the roller, so nothing gets handed off and lost in translation.
